Panoramic X-ray in Turkey
A panoramic X-ray captures the whole mouth in one image using a very small dose of radiation. It is used to plan implants, crowns, braces, extractions and dentures.

The basics
What is a panoramic X-ray?
It is a two-dimensional image of the teeth, the upper and lower jaws and the surrounding structures. Unlike an intraoral X-ray, nothing is placed inside your mouth: the detector sits in the machine, which rotates around your head.
Uses
What it can show
It covers a wider area than an intraoral X-ray, including the sinuses and the position of the teeth.
- Advanced gum disease
- Cysts in the jawbones
- Impacted teeth, including wisdom teeth
- Jaw-joint (TMJ) disorders
- Changes in the bone that need further investigation
Preparation
How to prepare
No special preparation is needed. You remove jewellery, glasses and other metal objects, and may be asked to wear a lead apron. Tell the team if you are or may be pregnant.
Safety
Benefits and risks
- No radiation remains in the body after the X-ray
- Usually no side effects at diagnostic doses
- Suitable for people with a strong gag reflex, because nothing goes in the mouth
- Always mention pregnancy beforehand

There is no recovery time. You can carry on as normal straight away.
Your coordinator stays in touch after you leave. You can send photos or arrange a video call with the clinic at any time, and we can share your records with your own dentist.
