Bad Breath Treatment in Turkey
Bad breath, or halitosis, usually starts in the mouth and can usually be treated once the cause is found.

Causes
What causes bad breath?
Most cases are linked to oral hygiene. When food particles stay in the mouth, bacteria break them down and release sulphur compounds. The back of the tongue is the most common source.
- Plaque and food trapped between the teeth
- Gum disease
- A dry mouth
- Smoking
Diagnosis
How a dentist assesses it
Your dentist assesses the breath from the mouth and nose and may take a sample from the back of the tongue to evaluate its odour.
Treatment
Treatment of bad breath
Where bacteria build up on the teeth, an antibacterial mouthwash or toothpaste may be recommended. Gum disease is treated, sometimes by a periodontist, because receding gums create spaces where bacteria collect.
If your teeth and gums are healthy, your dentist may refer you to a doctor to look for other causes, such as reflux or an infection.
